I AM PILOT.COM — Pilot Career Mobility

YOU HAVE
A LICENSE.
THE WORLD HAS
A SEAT FOR YOU.

Not getting hired doesn’t mean you’re not good enough.
It means you haven’t been matched with the right operator yet.
We fix that.

The real problem

IT’S NOT YOU.
IT’S THE STRUCTURE.

You pushed through a narrow gate to earn your license. You trained harder than most people ever will. And yet — the job didn’t come.

That’s not a reflection of your ability. It’s a structural problem. Training and hiring have been treated as separate worlds for too long. The pilots who get placed aren’t always the most qualified — they’re the ones who happened to be in the right place at the right time.

We’re changing that. By connecting qualified pilots directly with airlines and operators who are actively hiring — regardless of where you are in the world.

“You’re not lacking ability. You just haven’t been matched with the right operator yet. That’s exactly what we’re here to fix.”

Who this is for

DOES THIS
SOUND LIKE YOU?

We work with pilots at every stage. If any of these fit, we can help.

Licensed but not placed

You have your commercial license but haven’t landed a flying job yet. The domestic market is competitive and slow — but overseas opportunities are wide open.

Ready for a career move

You’re flying, but the current role isn’t where you want to be long-term. You want more — better routes, better pay, or a different type of flying entirely.

Career changer targeting aviation

You’ve built a career in another field and now want to fly professionally. Your life experience is an asset — not a disadvantage. Operators worldwide value it.

Low hours, big ambitions

You have the license but not enough flight time to qualify for most postings. We know exactly how to close that gap — and we have the connections to place you once you do.

Where you can go

THREE PATHS.
ALL HIRING NOW.

These aren’t theoretical options. These are positions we actively place pilots into — right now, across Canada, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and beyond.

01

Flight Instructor

Flight schools across Canada are actively hiring. Entry point: commercial license. Strong demand for instructors with character, adaptability, and work ethic — which career changers bring in abundance.

02

Charter Pilot

Strong pay, excellent benefits, diverse flying conditions. Charter is the most common stepping stone to a major airline career — and in Canada, pilot mobility between operators is completely normal.

03

Regional & Local Airline

Regional carriers handle domestic routes, remote communities, and cargo that major airlines don’t touch. Competitive pay, real career development, and the kind of flying that builds lasting experience.

THE PILOT SHORTAGE
IS REAL — AND IT’S
YOUR OPPORTUNITY.

The aviation industry is facing an unprecedented shortage of qualified pilots. Over 600,000 pilots will be needed globally in the next 20 years. Some industry estimates push that figure closer to 900,000.

Our own analysis of global training pipelines, retirement rates, and fleet expansion forecasts suggests that even with aggressive industry action, a shortfall of at least 200,000 pilots is effectively unavoidable.

Airlines know this. That’s why they’re actively expanding recruitment beyond their traditional domestic pools — and looking internationally for qualified candidates. The question isn’t whether opportunities exist. It’s whether you’re positioned to take them.

Why the timing matters

WHY PILOT CAREER
MOBILITY IS CHANGING.

For years, the idea of a pilot “changing jobs” was treated as unusual — at least in certain markets. That’s shifting fast. Here’s why now is the moment to move.

Demand has outpaced supply Airlines can no longer afford to wait for the perfect candidate from a single domestic pool. They’re opening doors that were previously closed.
International hiring is normalized In Canada, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Australia, hiring foreign-licensed pilots is standard practice — not the exception.
Career changers are valued Operators have discovered that pilots who came from other careers bring something flight-school graduates often don’t: real-world judgment, communication skills, and resilience.
Mobility creates opportunity A pilot who moves from instructor to charter to regional airline builds a stronger profile than one who waits for a single opening. The path isn’t linear — and that’s an advantage.
Common questions

THINGS PILOTS
USUALLY ASK US.

Can I really work as a pilot overseas with my current license?
In many cases, yes. Requirements vary by country and operator, but we assess your specific profile and tell you exactly what’s realistic — and what steps are needed to get there.
I only have 250 hours. Is that enough?
It depends on the role. Some instructor positions are accessible at 200 hours. For charter or airline roles, more hours are typically needed — but we have structured programs to help you build them efficiently.
I’m not a native English speaker. Does that matter?
Aviation English is a skill that can be developed. We work with pilots at all levels and can recommend targeted resources. Many of the pilots we’ve placed were not native speakers.
How long does the process take?
It varies significantly based on your current profile and target role. After your free career roadmap session, we’ll give you a realistic timeline based on your specific situation.
What does it cost?
Registration and your initial career roadmap are completely free. Paid consulting services are available for pilots who want deeper support — but there’s no obligation and no pressure.
